Recent events within Canada and throughout the world have shone the spotlight on persistent gender, racial, social and cultural inequalities. National medical organizations are not exempt from perceived or real concerns about a lack of diversity or institutional biases. As an organization with a mandate to represent all of its members, the CUA has a duty to ensure a culture of respect, inclusion and fairness is demonstrated in all activities. This policy has been developed to ensure the CUA remains accountable to the members it serves.

The COVID-19 pandemic raged on throughout the year, resulting in ongoing restrictions placed on travel, crowd sizes, and face to face interactions. This led to the following adaptions:

• The 76th Annual Meeting (CUA 2021) scheduled for Niagara Falls, ON was cancelled, substituted with the 2nd virtual “CUA Night School”
• The Canadian Society of Urology Residents (CSUR) meeting was held virtually
• The CUA/CUASF Annual General Meeting was held virtually, ratifying the Board motions from 2019-2021

This was the first live, in-person annual meeting since the start of the COVID pandemic.

The 77th Annual Meeting took place in Charlottetown, PEI, from June 24-27, 2022.
