Born in Toronto to Macedonian parents Kire and Velika. Alex earned his Ph.D. (Criminology) London School of Economics 1973; Assist. Prof. Faculty of Med., Dept. of Psyc., Clarke Institute of Psychiatry, U of T 1971 - 1975 and Clarke's Research Fund Award 1969 published by the U of T Press. Through his books and many published papers, he helped reform the Criminal Laws of Canada.
Alex moved his family to Yarmouth N.S. in 1975 to pursue his art. He was President of the Yarmouth Art Society, and Yarmouth Arts Regional Centre, and a founding member of the Visual Arts Nova Scotia and ran Art as Therapy Program. He is an author/playwright and loved to publish little books with simple stories and illustrations.
