      • Annual dues:  $100 ($40 CUA operations, $20 Foundation fee, $40 Scientific Program) 
      • New CUA committee formed:  Economics & Manpower – to concern itself with all aspects related to the economics of urological practice in Canada 
      • Standard time of the Annual Meeting is moved from the 2nd to the 3rd week of June
      • It is determined that simultaneous translation during the Annual Meetings is too expensive to continue given withdrawal of federal funding

      • It is determined that any dues-paying member in arrears for 2 years is automatically removed 
      • Senior members are determined not to be able to hold office   
      • A New CUA Committee is developed:  Public Relations and Education – to educate the public and improve the visibility of the CUA 
      • Economics & Manpower Committee reports that “there appears to be a surplus of production of urologists relative to needs in central Canada in contrast to the western or eastern parts”
      • It is agreed that subspecialty groups within urology should remain within the CUA and be discouraged from forming independent societies

    • Dr. Lorne D. Sullivan

      1983-06-22

      Dr. Sullivan was raised in Moss Bank, Saskatchewan, and graduated from the University of Saskatchewan’s Faculty of Medicine in 1962. After an Internship at Vanderbilt University, he completed his urological training at UBC under the directorship of Dr. Balfour. He pursued postgraduate training in Urological Oncology as a Royal College Traveling Fellow at several American cancer centers before establishing his practice in British Columbia in 1971. His main focus was the surgical management of urological cancer. He retired in 1999.
