      • New CUA Committee added: By-laws – chaired by the President-Elect – to update the CUA’s governing documents
      • To date, $27,000 of the $30,000 capital in the CUASF fund has been raised through Member donations.  There are enough funds to provide a 2-year scholarship of $15,000/year
      • The first CUA Award is bestowed
      • The Kidney Foundation of Canada provides designated urology research grants through the CUASF

    • Dr. Andrew W. Bruce

      1981-06-22

      In 1948, a young intern from Aberdeen, Scotland, Dr. Andrew W. Bruce, arrived at Queen’s to do a rotating internship. He showed a particular aptitude for the specialty of urology and remained as a junior assistant resident in urology for a further six months following completion of his internship. He returned to the United Kingdom to fulfill his military service obligation and also completed training in urology. He was recruited back to Queen’s in 1960 as the second Professor of Urology following Dr. Berry’s retirement due to illness.
