      • The CUA passed a motion to partially subsidize urology residency training programs requesting voluntary accreditation mini-surveys
      • CUA annual dues were increased by $25 to subsidize the cost of the Scientific Program of the Annual Meeting 
      • The duties of the Necrologist become that of the Historian 
      • Manpower Committee reports that the number of residency training positions fall short of the current demand for urologists
      • Simultaneous translation was provided during the Annual Meeting, with 75% funding provided by the Federal Secretary of State

      • Annual dues = $70 ($30 CUA operations, $15 Foundation fee, $25 Scientific Program) 
      • The CUA passed a motion that it may accept contributions from pharmaceutical companies, provided they are used exclusively for scientific endeavours 
      • The CUASF approaches industry for financial support 
      • New CUA Award: The “CUA Award” – a lifetime achievement award for outstanding contribution to Canadian urology over one’s career 
      • The Past President’s pin is replaced by a Past President’s medal 
      • New CUA Committee:  Continuing Medical Education & Assessment – to facilitate Members’ ability to obtain the CME requirements set forth by the RCPSC 
      • New CUA Committee:  Awards Committee – chaired by the President-Elect.  Membership includes 3 Officers and 2 nominations from the floor during the AGM– to determine CUA Award recipients 
    • Dr. Peter O. Crassweller

      1979-06-22

      Dr. Crassweller was a respected and accomplished urologist at the Toronto Western Hospital for over 40 years, pioneering the development of the kidney transplant. He was a leader in many professional associations. He taught at the University of Toronto, and published extensively in his field.
