      1974-06-22

      Dr. Staubitz was born in Buffalo and received his medical degree in 1943 from Buffalo University. He joined the Navy and served as an intern at the Naval Hospital in Chelsea, Massachussets, before being sent to the frontlines in the Philippines, Iwo Jima and Okinawa. He completed his residency in urology in 1947, and became Chief of Urology at Roswell Park Cancer Institute in 1949. He was hired as professor of urology at Buffalo University in 1960, and head of urology at Buffalo General Hospital. He was the first and only CUA president to practice outside of Canada.

    • Dr. Lloyd N. MacAninch

      Dr. McAninch was the first Chief of Urology at Western University in 1954. He had trained at Western and Westminster Hospital and in urology under Sr. Eldon Busby. He helped organize the first dialysis treatments at Victoria Hospital as well as the first kidney transplants. He retired in 1974.
